ABOUT Sentula Mining Limited

Sentula Mining Limited established in 1972, is a coal exploration and development company with operations in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. They are listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange (JSE:SNU) as of 1993, with their head offices based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The strategy employed by Sentula Mining Limited is to be actively involved in open cast mining, drilling and rehabilitation and to be one of the major suppliers of outsourced mining services in the South African coal mining industry. Sentula Mining Limited has grown to become a leading mining services provider currently with operations in 16 African countries. The Companyís foothold in the coal and energy sector, coupled with its diversified service offering, client base, mineral exposure and geographical spread, have stood it in good stead during recent challenging economic conditions.

As part of Sentula Mining Limitedís ongoing B-BBEE transaction, they have established Shanike Investments (Pty)Ltd comprising of Sentula Mining Employee Trust, Sentula Mining Empowerment Trust and Anglo American Khula Mining Fund. This collective will be used as a vehicle to acquire a 16.7% interest in Cintacure, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sentula Mining Limited, for the purchase consideration of R5m. Sentula Mining Limited then intends to dispose of its entire holding in its South African mining services businesses for a consideration of R6m, comprised of 6000 Cintacure preference shares each of R1000 value. Thereafter Cintacure will be renamed Sentula Contracting (Pty)Ltd. The rationale behind this transaction is for Sentula Mining Limited to meet the BBBEE requirements as set out by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Broad-based Socio-Economic Empowerment Charter for the South African Mining and Minerals Industry.

Nkomati - Currently in the production stage. Nkomati is an anthracite colliery, applications for mining licenses have been lodged at Bankfontein in Ermelo and Schoongezicht in Delmas. The mine is located close to Komatipoort, eastern Mpumalanga, South Africa. Anthracite is produced as a coke blend for domestic and export consumption, from opencast and underground operations. Nkomati has an estimated production rate of 1.5 million tonnes per annum.

Asenjo Energy - Currently in the exploration stage. Asenjo Energy is a coal mine which encompasses three significant coal deposits. The mine is located in Botswana. Asenjo Energy is estimated to contain approximately 10 billion tonnes of in-situ coal.

Indongo - Currently in the exploration stage. Indongo is a coal mine which has been earmarked for energy and power generation across the region and abroad. The min is located in Zambia.

Benicon - Benicon is a contract mining company, supplies the full range of mining operations, covering the movement and management of all aspects of over burden removal and coal extraction to specified production budgets.

Geosearch  - Africa's largest exploration drilling company, owning 130 exploration drilling rigs run by highly experienced and efficient operations crews.

Classic Challenge Trading - Specialises in opencast mining, crushing and screening.

Mobile Crane Hire - The company is engaged in crane hire projects in the mining and construction sectors in the Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces.

Overburden Drilling & Blasting - This specialist drilling and blasting business was setup as a stand alone entity in support of opencast mining contracts and to meet the shift towards outsourcing this function.

JEF Drill and Blast - JEF Drill and Blast is a specialised drilling and blasting entity servicing all of Sentula's opencast mining as well as an expanding external client base.

Equipment & Spares - The strategic replacement of equipment and plant spares has continued to maintain the group's competitiveness and capacity expansion.

Delmas Milling Plant - Currently in the development stage. Delmas Milling Plant is a cement grinding plant with access to 50% of the clinker produced in Aganang. The plant is located in Delmas, South Africa. Delmas Milling Plant has an estimated production capacity of 1.4 million tonnes per annum.
